Went to Los Portales after the first Mexican restaurant I tried was packed. They didn't disappoint! Service was friendly, food was good and the portions were more than generous for the price. I had a frozen margarita, and it was good and strong. Would definitely go back.

One of my favorite Mexican places in the QCA.. I don't think I have had a bad meal. With that said occasionally I do get sketchy service and with large parties this is true more often than not. BUT I keep coming back so it must not be a deal breaker.

Staff is warm, friendly, and personable. Often when I'm here, the manager checks in at the end of the meal, and I always have good things to say. The food is solid, delicious, varied, and very large portions. Personal fave is the molcajete, which serves two easily. It can be messy, but is absolutely worth the extra napkins. Service is quick! Crowds can vary, but it's generally busy, even during typically slow periods. However, wait times have never been bad. Live mariachi band some evenings, but conversation was still possible.
